[Shiro doesn't remember falling, but it feels a little like he's been dropped off a high building and frankly, given the likelihood that he was teleported here, for whatever reason... he doubts, with his luck, that it was a gentle landing. He deeply considers lying prone for a few more minutes, but the sound of excited voices filter through to his awareness past the pain, talking about a 'beam of light'. Before he can think about how much he hurts, he's rolling into a tense, ready crouch, just in time for several large shapes to break through the foliage. Shiro can only gape at the variety of the figures that fan out to surround him, scales and vines and wings. He hasn't seen such a menagerie gathered in one place since, well... the coliseum.

It's not a comforting comparison.

Weary dread sluices through Shiro's body as they circle him, jeering. He seems weak! and King Darc will know just what to do with this one. and He'll be quite a prize, with this last line, an echo from the past again, ratcheting his pulse up until it feels like his chest will break. Though Shiro knows from their tone it won't do any good, he warns them to back off just once before lunging at the nearest one, hoping surprise will give him enough edge to run.]

Okay. [Shiro breathes out of huge sigh of relief.] I really didn't think you would, I just... I've never had eggs laid in me before.

[He laughs a little because that sentence was so absurd.]

That's, usually not a thing that happens to humans.

It's really fine, [Shiro puts hastily. He laughs, a weird stutter tinged with hysteria but mostly sounding relieved. You're just so. Shiro blushes, thrilled and flattered at the implication Darc wanted him so bad he just lost it.] It felt amazing. It's just kind of hard to ah, process?

[his face softens, some of the tension draining out of him. Even though he feels a low thrum of unreality. Not only did he just fuck a human, he doesn't regret it in the slightest. Shouldn't this have all been so much harder? But how can he regret it when Shiro just flung himself into the deep end with Darc?]

How do you feel now? Everything is normal?

[He manages to lever himself up a little.]

... I think so. To be honestly it feels like I can't really... Feel everything. But not in a bad way? Just burned out.

How about you?

[Darc is surprised by the question. his mouth twitches.]

... About the same.

[God what if something was wrong though. Could he ask Kharg what to do? No, absolutely not.]

You are to tell me immediately if you feel something is wrong.

Right. Yeah.

[He agrees hastily. As soon as Darc says it it comes crashing down that he could have literally caused a political incident by agreeing to that. A delayed wash of relief rolls over him. Possibly, he has just been fucked by an alien king and nothing bad happened.]

I - I don't regret my actions. I was drawn to you so powerfully. It would have been pointless and foolish to deny it or delay.

I agree. I don't regret it, either. ... I'm pretty glad it happened.

[That makes Darc feel so good!?!!!

Now Darc is the one that is halfway to panicking, only muffled because of the warm layer of pleasure keeping him chill. He squeezes his arm.]

... I am too.

[Shiro smiles at him, and finally gets himself the rest of the way to sitting, wincing only a little.]

... . . . . . You must be hungry. Wash off in the bath while I get something.

[He is glad Darc goes first because he is very wobbly.

Time to figure out bath. He is pretty motivated.]

[the pool appears to be stone and has no, like, plumbing, it's just a pool. A deep one tho. There's some spongy-looking rocks and mushrooms by it, plus a... metal rod and pick. Bandages. There's some glowy mushrooms in it and the water is cool.]

[meanwhile Darc is just glad he camped with humans so he knows what the fuck humans like to eat. Then wonders if that should really be his first priority??]

[Wistfully, Shiro thinks, if it were a smaller pool he could probably just heat it with his arm...

But it'd take too long. And the cool water is good, too, in it's own way. Two days sick and then, uh, a very messy activity have left a lot of grime. Shiro spends a good ten minutes just scrubbing.

He should probably use this time to think but he just... doesn't. He takes a closer look at the mushrooms, but doesn't poke them. He swims over to a patch of sunlight and rests against the edge of the pool where the warm light can hit him. He considers that he should be worried about not being worried. He still can't manage it. Like he'd actually had his brains fucked out.]

[on his errand Darc gets called on smelling like the human twice, by people who are gutsy or familiar enough with Darc to TEASE him. After he snaps at them, they and the other Deimos back off, but there is fast, excited tittering. Rowdiness over Darc and the rescued human.

Listening to the chatter, an unbidden, cold shock spikes through his brain, down his spine. His ears ring and he freezes. He thinks about what he'll have to do to mitigate the damage, reestablish his dominance, tighten leashes. But then the tittering words actually get through the loud static, and he realizes what they're saying isn't insults. It's not meant to be.

In fact, they're being gossipy.

He barks for them to mind their own business and they scatter, snorting and whuffing and laughing. Darc takes a few deep breaths, grabs his food and heads back. After some walking on his own, the ringing in his head clears.

He clutches his arm. He'd thought his basest instinct would have been to deny being with the human at all. Instead, he just feels ready to defend it. How was he supposed to accept saying one of the only things in his life that made him feel happy didn't happen? Something he just... liked? He didn't become King to live like that.

Has Darc really gotten so soft on his human half? Is it just a helpless instinct he can't ever get away from? Or is Shiro special?

He guesses, in the end, it doesn't matter. Whatever the answer, it wouldn't do him any good to appear so weak in front of someone he just fucked. Awkward.

He takes a deep breath and comes back in.]

[Shiro has not yet been able to move himself out of the pool.

he has not worried about anything for the entire duration Darc was gone. it's incredible. He gives him an absolutely radiant smile.]

[Shiro slowly hefts himself up out of the bath. He is sore, now, though he mostly feels pleasantly refreshed.

Being naked in front of Darc, sober, given recent events was... awkward, but not in a bad way. Shiro was just more conscious of being looked at than he normally would be, even with the scars. He pads his way over to where his clothes were tossed.]

Just in time. I thought I was going to fall asleep again.

[Darc continues to have a very blatant stare, so much so that it's like he is just animal-like in his alertness.

He does seem a bit embarrassed though, and smiles a little coyly and opens up the satchel by the bed. It is full of fruits and nuts and dates and dried meat and flatbread. Then he unties his own skirt and crosses the room for the bath.]

Have as much as you want, I'll join you soon. And I suppose help you into your clothes again.

[Crawling into the bath is actually the first time he's bared his back to Shiro without the armor - he looks like he has two dark, scarred stubs. ]

[Shiro settles and just drapes the sarong over his lap, for now, giving a sheepish laugh.]

Thanks. I'll try to pay attention this time.

[He watches Darc with a more casual regard, in between bites of food. Not avoiding him or hyper-focusing, but his gaze does linger on the scars. symmetrical... He thinks they're just particularly thick until Darc turns a little and he can see they're a little too thick for normal scars.]

[Darc is quick, snagging a spongy rock and squeezing it for soap, brusque and purposeful. He wants to be eating with Shiro but knows he's gonna regret not cleaning up a little.

So in just a minute or two he climbs out, wet and literally shining from his wet scales. He takes a deep breath as he grabs his sarong and walks nude to where Shiro is, and sits across from him. He grunts, settling the same way Shiro is.]

It's still early. There's time to rest. I just didn't want to wait to eat.

[... So that is what those are for. Whoops.

The sight of the water shimmering down Darc's scales, not to mention over muscle and scar tissue and his alien cock is. Eye-catching. Shiro has a wow moment, looking at him. ]

... I think I've gotten enough sleep over the past couple of days.
