[Shiro doesn't remember falling, but it feels a little like he's been dropped off a high building and frankly, given the likelihood that he was teleported here, for whatever reason... he doubts, with his luck, that it was a gentle landing. He deeply considers lying prone for a few more minutes, but the sound of excited voices filter through to his awareness past the pain, talking about a 'beam of light'. Before he can think about how much he hurts, he's rolling into a tense, ready crouch, just in time for several large shapes to break through the foliage. Shiro can only gape at the variety of the figures that fan out to surround him, scales and vines and wings. He hasn't seen such a menagerie gathered in one place since, well... the coliseum.

It's not a comforting comparison.

Weary dread sluices through Shiro's body as they circle him, jeering. He seems weak! and King Darc will know just what to do with this one. and He'll be quite a prize, with this last line, an echo from the past again, ratcheting his pulse up until it feels like his chest will break. Though Shiro knows from their tone it won't do any good, he warns them to back off just once before lunging at the nearest one, hoping surprise will give him enough edge to run.]

[an INCREDIBLY HOT GREEN LADY WITH A FLOWER FOR HER HAIR AND HER TITS OUT comes in. She graces him with a dazzling smile.]

Oh, my, awake already! How do you feel, dearie?

[The drugs are really helping here but also once you've been in a Galran coliseum for a year. You have seen everything.]

I feel pretty amazing, considering. You're Camillia?

[she sing-songs, pleased. Leans low~ over him, inspecting him here and there.]

That's right~ my, you are friendly. Bet you weren't expecting such beautiful saviors, were you? But I happened to be in the neighborhood, and of course I'll do anything for my Lord Darc.

Now, I don't usually treat humans, but I'll always have a soft spot in my gracious heart for anyone in your condition. Now, be a little more clear. Only amazing? What color are my petals?

[Okay, well. He's not a rock. He gets a little red.]

I don't feel much of anything, [he confesses.] Not any pain, at least. I feel pretty tired... and like I should probably be sore. They're—Coral?

That's good! Isn't that a relief. I had to use a bit of froth on you to draw the poison out, you see. All your injuries have been healed, and you appear to be coming down alright. At this rate, you'll feel a bit overly pleasant until sundown, nothing too terrible. Food will taste better and sex will feel more pleasant, of course. Enjoy yourself, my dear, you will live.

[She settles next to him on the side of his amputated arm, gently picking it up.]

Now then. Darc told me you didn't know the nature of this arm.

[... awkward laugh. Is this like weed? It's been too long. He can't really tell. It might be like weed. He stays faintly red. He's glad it's probably like weed, or he'd probably be a lot more distressed about anyone poking at his arm. His eyes dart for Darc as if to reassure himself he wasn't a hallucination produced by his desire not to be experimented on.]

That's right. Not much, anyway.

[She studies his arm, humming, frowning. Doesn't appear to dig into it, simply examines it from the outside.

After a moment, she says just as sing-song and cheerfully as she has been:]

I hope you are telling the truth, dearie! Lord Darc is a kind and sincere man. It may seem a simple matter to stab him a bit in the back, but know this: If you are here to hurt him, I will gladly torture and devour you alive until your entire existence is boiled down to begging me for mercy.

[... The delivery is so smooth he has to go back and think before he becomes concerned.]

I... really don't want to hurt anyway. I'm incredibly grateful. If there's anything I can do to repay you...

Oh? My! Ho ho, you are an interesting one. A human who doesn't mind being in a Deimos' debt.

[she smooths her hands over the metal casing of his cybernetics.]

Humans captured and experimented on me, you know. I know the cruelty of science. It seems you do as well.

[God he really needs to explain about how he is against space racism but they're moving right along.]

... I'm sorry to hear that. No-one should have to go through something like that.

[Camillia seems, startled. The same sort of wide-eyed bewilderment he got from Darc. She is re-examining him entirely.]

... It was the worst time of my life. But Lord Darc rescued me, and restored me. Perhaps it is your turn.

[she turns her attention back to his arm, frowning.]

... I recognize the energy in your arm as magical energy, and can assure you that it has integrated with your body. It is as if it is not a machine at all, and is certainly stronger than your human arm. It... appears that you are the one powering it, which is why it does not need an external source of magic... but it isn't a drain on you. Truly amazing...

If you truly want to know what this arm is and what it's capable of, I'm sure this may be more that hideous witch Tatjana's area of expertise, as she specializes in nasty experimentation like this. But, well, it may be best to simply leave it be, dearie. [SNIFFS] Not that I would leave her alone with anyone in my care!

[She didn't leave him any time to protest that he's been rescued for quite a while. He curls the prosthetic's fingers, staring down the length of the arm. He should figure it out, it might be the key to getting back home. He knows he's been putting off learning more about it. He knows why. But that reluctance couldn't get in the way of reuniting with the rest of the Paladins.]

... I'll think about it. [a small small attempt at humor:] Probably shouldn't make any major decisions drugged and naked..

[she does actually laugh so there's that.]

What strange clothes! We couldn't get them off without peeling them off you like a fruit rind.

[She stands up, smoothing her green dress.]

Do let me know if you'd like a bit more froth later for the pain, dearie. I shall leave you to rest your weak little body.

[Eh he's too high to explain pressure suits.

He almost feels a little bad about this, but he'd feel rude not saying it.]

[OFF. SHE GOES.

There's some voices outside for a while. Eventually Darc comes in again, holding a black patterned cloth.]

[These aliens are so weird but also... Very cute. ]

[Darc drapes the cloth over a stool and stands over him. He grunts, staring at Shiro with that same unhidden intense interest, but still seems reserved]

I hear you're in good shape.

[Oh, great. From what Darc said, he'd be on display anyway but he'd have liked to be a little less on display.

He wonders if there's underwear. He thinks there probably is not.]

Would you mind giving me a hand up? [Since there's nothing to grab on to for leverage and he does still feel stiff and weak. But the prospect of walking sounds good. He holds out his organic hand. ]

[Deimos wear fundoshi so I guess you only get underwear if you know how to put that on

Darc EYES HIM, staring at his hand. Then he flicks his gaze between Shiro's mechanical hand and the flesh one. Ah.

Fine; he takes his hand without comment otherwise, with an enormous scaley claw]

[Shiro grips his hand tight and let's Darc haul him up. He sways a little once he's on his feet, hand instinctivly gripping Darc's a little. ]

Sorry, [He says, automatically, but he doesn't let go until he's steady. Darc's standoffishness almost makes Shiro think he offended him, so he watches his face carefully out of the corner of his eye. ]

[Meanwhile Darc is watching Shiro's face INTENSELY

When Shiro peeks at him he stands up a little straighter.]
