[Shiro doesn't remember falling, but it feels a little like he's been dropped off a high building and frankly, given the likelihood that he was teleported here, for whatever reason... he doubts, with his luck, that it was a gentle landing. He deeply considers lying prone for a few more minutes, but the sound of excited voices filter through to his awareness past the pain, talking about a 'beam of light'. Before he can think about how much he hurts, he's rolling into a tense, ready crouch, just in time for several large shapes to break through the foliage. Shiro can only gape at the variety of the figures that fan out to surround him, scales and vines and wings. He hasn't seen such a menagerie gathered in one place since, well... the coliseum.
It's not a comforting comparison.
Weary dread sluices through Shiro's body as they circle him, jeering. He seems weak! and King Darc will know just what to do with this one. and He'll be quite a prize, with this last line, an echo from the past again, ratcheting his pulse up until it feels like his chest will break. Though Shiro knows from their tone it won't do any good, he warns them to back off just once before lunging at the nearest one, hoping surprise will give him enough edge to run.]

Sorry, but I really... don't see.
no subject
Darc stares at him. Absolute bewilderment is on his face.
He tries to reframe all of Shiro's answers. Digest them somehow]
. . . You're really not from here, are you? Do you... not know the Deimos at all?
no subject
no subject
Yes.
I can hardly believe this... [tightly] Your arm... there's nothing like it left on our planet, but the same sage that cured your poison and tended you may be able to learn more about it. No one left in this world knows more about magic than her.
[...stiffly] I told her not to examine it until we asked you about it. She knows what it's like to be experimented on.
no subject
... Thank you for that. I don't mind if she takes a look at it.
no subject
Good.
[the idea of Galaxies being real, and still full of humans... still full of magic...
He shakes his head. This is why he wanted to meet the human himself. If he'd been relayed this story, he'd assume the human was taking his people for a ride. But the way Shiro talks to him, looks at him... Darc just can't think he's lying.]
... Our world lost our ability to contact other galaxies eons ago. It's only legend now. The humans were the ones who obsessed over it - if you want more information on that, you can discuss it with Kharg when he gets here.
no subject
[Damn. And he was no engineer like Pidge or Hunk.]
I'll do that. I should try to find a way to contact everyone....
no subject
Who is everyone?

no subject
Well, that won't be for a few days.
[He straightens up, pulling to his feet. He is not especially tall, but he is built. He hefts some thick silver armor over his shoulders and chest, covering the nastiest scars on his chest.]
Until then, you're free to go anywhere in the city. No one will do you any harm. My people will be more curious about you than anything else.
no subject
I don't mind that. You're leaving?
no subject
I'm getting Camillia to check on you, now that you're awake.
... It's still for the best that you stay closest to me, especially while you regain your strength.

Darc stares at him.]
... Sure.

Darc swallows, a weird, experience happening in his chest at the-- gratitude just recklessly spilling out of the human. He ends up huffing.]
You were treated by the best healer the Deimos have to offer, so show some strength in your recovery.

[AFTER Darc leaves Shiro manages to push himself up enough to realize he's naked. He takes a moment to think about if he cares and decides he doesn't, at least not for the normal reasons. When he thinks about Darc eyeballing all his scars, his sympathy, that's when he starts to get the itch to pull one of the furs around himself. His eyes go to the tray of tools next and he wonders if he should really be panicking more than he is, but... he just can't disbelieve Darc's sincerity.
Which might be the drugs talking.
Shiro lays back down and tries to pick out details on the wall instead of thinking while he waits.]
no subject
Oh, my, awake already! How do you feel, dearie?
no subject
I feel pretty amazing, considering. You're Camillia?
no subject
That's right~ my, you are friendly. Bet you weren't expecting such beautiful saviors, were you? But I happened to be in the neighborhood, and of course I'll do anything for my Lord Darc.
[brightly]
Now, I don't usually treat humans, but I'll always have a soft spot in my gracious heart for anyone in your condition. Now, be a little more clear. Only amazing? What color are my petals?
no subject
I don't feel much of anything, [he confesses.] Not any pain, at least. I feel pretty tired... and like I should probably be sore. They're—Coral?
no subject
[She settles next to him on the side of his amputated arm, gently picking it up.]
Now then. Darc told me you didn't know the nature of this arm.
no subject
That's right. Not much, anyway.
